Welcome!

We’re Marissa and Evan Weatherby—husband and wife, parents, and the team behind Weatherby Photos.

We’re based in South Jersey, and a lot of our life—and work—has grown out of the same places we’ve been going to for years. Quiet beaches, familiar towns, and the kind of spots you don’t think much about until later.

Marissa is the one behind the camera, while Evan handles everything behind the scenes that keeps things running. Outside of photography, we’re both full-time teachers, and most of our life is centered around our family.

Our story is a big part of why we do this the way we do. We’re infertility warriors, and our children came to us through embryo adoption. Each of them also has a twin in heaven. Because they were conceived in the same IVF cycle, they’re technically twins with each other too—just born in different years.

That experience has shaped how we see family, how we value time, and how we approach the moments we’re trusted to capture—especially in maternity and newborn sessions.

We met when we were 18 and have been together ever since.

We’re both musicians (Marissa as a flutist and vocalist, Evan on trumpet and drums), and we tend to get through life by laughing. That usually carries into our sessions too.

We love to travel—especially to the Caribbean—and we’re unapologetically into Disney and Harry Potter, so don’t be surprised if one of those comes up during your session.

Most of what we do is simple. We show up, get to know you, and photograph what’s already there. Real connection. Real laughter. The moments you’ll want to come back to.
